Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling – 90 Points
Updated: Jun 22, 2021
Let’s talk about Riesling! Riesling is a white grape variety that prefers cool to moderate climates. It is naturally high in acidity and can range at all sweetness levels. Riesling is produced across the world in a variety of styles. The 2018 Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling is medium in sweetness style (between off-dry and sweet) and very easy to drink at 11.5% alcohol. Admittedly, I could only enjoy a glass or two rather than splitting the whole bottle to enjoy it’s medium sweet profile, but like this blog – we are evolving. See below for my tasting notes:
Vintage: 2018
Alcohol percentage: 11.5%
Appellation: Columbia Valley
Appearance: medium intensity, lemon in color.
Nose: medium intensity, with secondary aromas.
Palate: medium dry sweetness, and medium acidity.
Aromas and flavors: floral aroma notes, white peach, lime and minerality flavors.
Conclusion: good wine
Price: $7.99
Food Recommendation: pairs well with grilled seafood and spicy Korean chicken wings.
Conclusion: for the price point you can’t go wrong, this wine is great if you prefer medium sweet wines.
Wine rating: 90 Points
*Any wines rated 90 points or more, I recommend. Wines rated 89 points or below means it’s an acceptable wine, but I wouldn’t spend your money on it.*
