Winetasting with a view in Paso Robles? Say no more, DAOU vineyards is the spot! DAOU vineyards is a winery recommended by so many different friends and I'm happy we got to experience it. DAOU is a wine you can find at most stores like at BevMo! so I had been familiar with the name however I had not tasted their wines before.
DAOU vineyards is a family owned and operated winery in Paso Robles by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou. Read more about the family history here. Like the website states:
"DAOU is the realization of their childhood dream and a testament to the timeless bonds of love and family."
As someone who is close with their family, that's ultimate goals if you ask me!
Let's get into the winetasting! For $45 you can enjoy tasting the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Red Blend, Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Each tasting is waived with a 3-bottle purchase or two tastings waived upon joining membership. You can add a massive Charcuterie & Cheese board for $50 which can feed at least 4 people.
The best way to describe DAOU wines are: lucious, fruit forward, and bold! Each wine was very similar stylistically to Napa like the Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon which I love. However the 2019 Unbound Red Blend (50% Petite Sirah, 24% Tannat, 26% Tempranillo) really stood out to me and for only $59 is a delicious, unique wine that would be great for a bbq!
Last but not least, at the end of the day this place serves not only great wine, but have so many cute photo ops and a gorgeous view that I especially enjoyed. Here's a mini video recap:
