Tablas Creek Winery – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Must visit winery when going to Paso Robles? Tablas Creek Winery! This is 100% based on their unique and delicious rhone style wines at affordable prices. Let's get into it!
About Tablas Creek
Tablas Creek is a pioneer of California's Rhone movement and founded in 1989 by two families: the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands. After a few years of research they decided Paso Robles would be the perfect place to grow their vineyards since its climate is similar to Southern Rhone.
The Wines
As their website puts it, Tablas Creek Vineyard follows the centuries-old Châteauneuf-du-Pape tradition of blending, "to produce wines that balance richness and elegance, while ensuring complexity, freshness, and minerality." After tasting through their white wine flight and sampling some reds I have to agree!
Tasting Top Highlights:
Biodynamic + dog friendly!
Educative tasting with a variety of uniques wines like: Grenache, Marsanne, Roussane, Mourvedre and Counoise. I selected the white wine flight and also got to taste some of their reds - both were delicious; they also offer a red + white flight mix.
The Cotes de Tablas Blanc and Grenache were my fave and left with a bottle of each!
Highly recommend starting your winetasting day here as most wines are refreshing and not super bold like some other notable wineries in the area. Then make your way to lunch and get ready to taste more!
